Another magazine with Freida Pinto on the cover? Yes! Not only is she on the cover of British Esquire, Freida’s also gracing the cover of the April issue of Nylon magazine, looking stunning as always. A preview of the picture can be seen to the right, simply click on it to see the cover in bigger size.
As soon as I’m able to get my hands on a copy of the magazine I will add scans to our gallery. The same goes for outtakes from the photoshoot.
For now, enjoy the first-look on the cover, and keep watching this space for further updates! What do you think of the cover? And do you prefer this styling of Miss Pinto to the one in Esquire? Sound off in the comments!
As reported before, Trishna is released in UK cinemas today! The drama, written and directed by Michael Winterbottom, stars Freida Pinto in the title role and Riz Ahmed as Jay. It’s been given good reviews by UK movie critics, and Freida’s been praised for her performance by both critics and actors. So I’d really recommend you to go see it. If you do, be sure to write your opinion here at Freida Pinto Fan! The UK theatrical trailer has been added to our video archive, as well.
Earlier today the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival announced the films for its Spotlight, Cinemania, and Special Screening sections. One of the films to have its US premiere at the festival (to be held April 18–29) is Michael Winterbottom’s Trishna! More will be reported once we know what date Trishna will screen, and whether Freida Pinto will attend the showing or not. Here’s what the official website said of the movie:
Trishna, directed and written by Michael Winterbottom. (UK) – U.S. Premiere, Narrative. Again proving his endless versatility in his fifth film at Tribeca, prolific director Michael Winterbottom (The Road to Guantanamo, last year’s The Trip)adapts Thomas Hardy’s classic Victorian melodrama Tess of the d’Urbervilles to all the beauty and blight of contemporary India, where the budding love between a peasant woman and the son of a wealthy Englishman is strained by old prejudices and class divides. The radiant Freida Pinto stars. In English, Hindi with subtitles. An IFC Films release.
In related news, a date for the US theatrical release for Trishna has been released. It will get a limited release on July 13, with hopes of getting an audience and receive a wide release later on.
I have added a brand new layout over at the Freida Pinto Video Archives! This is due to the fact that A) It was long overdue and B) I have modified the archives to be easier to navigate. Because not only is there a new look, but unnecessary stuff have been removed as well, for an easier viewing experience.
I also wanted to ask you. Are there any videos in particular you’d like to see in the archives? I will do my best to add more in the coming weeks, but suggestions are always welcomed! Looking forward to hearing from you, and I hope you will like the new look!
