The results from the annual 100 Sexiest Women poll by FHM have been unveiled. As mentioned before, Freida Pinto was nominated to the list; and she made it – big time! Freida ended up on the 10th place, beaten by names such as Cheryl Cole (#1), Megan Fox (#2) and Jessica Alba (#3). Check out what FHM said about Freida:
This year’s highest new entry, the Mumbai model made her film debut in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire last year and rocketed straight into number two on everyone’s list of favourite Indians (Sachin Tendulkar remains strong in first position, but she nudged Gandhi down to third, who can only expect to drop further if he continues his stubborn refusal to contemporise his image like Madonna does). Now BAFTA-nominated, the 24-year-old had previously been presenting a television travel show and appearing in Skoda adverts.
I just wanted to check in and let everybody know that I haven’t forgotten about this site, despite it not being updated for several days now. There’s simply little-to-no big news on Freida at the moment, as she’s currently filming Miral in Israel and Palestine. I also started working at a new job a couple of days ago, and that’s taken some of my time from updating Freida Pinto Fan.
Fear not, as soon as any new Freida-stuff comes up, we will be here to report it to you!
I have added a new photoshoot to the gallery, namely one that Freida and Slumdog Millionaire co-star Dev Patel shot for People magazine’s Oscar issue. Freida looks absolutely breathtaking in these shots, which unfortunately have big tags on them. But they’re still better than nothing, right? Check them out!
Due to popular demand, I’ve opened a forum for all of us to discuss everything and anything about Freida Pinto! You can find it at FreidaPintoForum.com. Make sure to head on over right away, register (it’s 100% free), and start posting! See you there!
Freida’s on the cover of yet another magazine in April! This time she’s gracing the cover and pages of the Chilean edition of Cosmopolitan. A preview of the cover can be seen to the left.
Unfortunately it’s the exact same photos that were used for the Spanish edition’s April issue. Still, if you have the magazine and access to a scanner we’d love to see scans from the mag. :)
If you have anything else to contribute, please send the stuff (photos, information, videos, you name it!) to freidapintofan.com@gmail.com. Proper credit will be given, of course.
The nominees for FHM’s annual 100 Sexiest Women in the World have been unveiled – and Freida Pinto is one of them! Make sure you head on over to FHM.com and choose Freida as your number one by clicking on “Add Freida Pinto to your top ten”. After you’re done with your top ten (I assume Freida is #1?), send in your votes and hope for the best! What FHM said about Freida’s success can be read below.
We have an awful lot to thank Danny Boyle for. Not only has he entertained us with Scottish junkies and contagious zombies, but the acclaimed director also brought Freida Pinto into our lives in Slumdog Millionaire.
Prior to her role in one of the biggest flicks of 2009, the impossibly beautiful actress worked as a model, shilling stuff like Skodas and Wrigleys chewing gum to the good folks of India. After an extended stint on a travel show, Freida persisted with film casting sessions for two years before Mr Boyle decided she should fall in love with a lad with an uncanny knack for TV quiz shows.
On the back of her award winning turn in Slumdog, she has signed up with behemoth US talent agency CAA, so we can expect to see a lot more of her in the future.
Slumdog Millionaire was released onto DVD ($29.98) and Bluray-Disc ($39.98) yesterday! Make sure you go out and buy a copy of this fantastic movie today. I definitely will, so expect screencaptures from the film and its extras very soon.
Extras will include a commentary by Director Danny Boyle and Actor Dev Patel, a second commentary by Producer Christian Colson and Writer Simon Beaufoy, a Slumdog Dreams: Danny Boyle & The Making of Slumdog Millionaire featurette, 12 deleted scenes, and a Slumdog Cutdown feature.
The Blu-ray release will include all of the above, plus a From Script To Screen: Toilet Scene feature, an Indian Short Film (“Manjha”), a Bombay Liquid Dance Music Video, and a digital copy.
