Freida to Sign Fashion Endorsement Deal?

According to several Indian news sites, Freida Pinto has inked a two-year endorsement deal with a high fashion apparel brand worth $7 million.

She is expected to get $3.5 million a year, and “since it is a two year deal, it makes it a $7 million deal. In Indian rupees, it comes out to be approximately Rs.35 crore. It is higher than what any Indian female celebrity has ever been paid,” said a source close to the 27-year-old Indian model-turned-actress.

When contacted, Anirban Das Blah, managing director of KWAN (the agency that handles Freida’s endorsements in India), told IANS: “It’s a policy never to comment on brand deals. We’ve witnessed Freida’s phenomenal growth in such a short span, and that too on a global platform. Brand Freida stands for very rare, unique and irreplaceable values and imagery, making her the ideal choice for a brand with a global appeal and an Indian focus.”

Although it’s still unknown what fashion brand she’s signed for (if the rumors are to be believed), she has been seen with Calvin Klein Collection‘s Women’s Creative Director Francisco Costa (and wearing Calvin Klein) lately. Maybe there’s a hint there? When facts about this turn up, I’ll post it here. Stay tuned!

Scans from GQ India’s October Issue

I have finally been able to get my hands on a copy of GQ India’s October issue! This means scans from the magazine (which is the annual Men of the Year-edition) for you all to enjoy. Freida Pinto is named their Woman of the Year (why wouldn’t she!) and therefore featured inside the magazine as well.

Unfortunately, the photos are old (from Vanity Fair, 2009) and the article is short without any new quotes. Still, she looks gorgeous and it’s always nice to see Freida in a new magazine! Click on the previews below to see them in bigger size.

First Poster and Trailer for ‘Black Gold’ are Here

As the fourth update for this special day – once again, Happy birthday, Freida! – I have added the first (French) poster for Black Gold to the gallery! It’s very simple, but cool and golden (duh), and will probably serve as a good first teaser poster for the movie.

Not only that, but the very first trailer has been released as well! Although it’s in French as well, you get the idea of the movie and Freida looks beautiful as Princess Lallah. I have added the screen captures to the photo gallery as well. Watch the trailer at French movie website Allocine.com!

Blu-ray & DVD Details for ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’

Freida Pinto Supports ‘My Safe Place’

A couple of days ago, two new photos was released of Freida Pinto and her mother. They’re supposedly from the campaign for Emma Thompson’s charity My Safe Place. Though I’m not fully convinced, as the images are old (which you can tell by Freida’s look), I still have added the pictures to the gallery. ELLE’s Women in Hollywood Tribute Coverage

Today is Freida Pinto’s 27th birthday, and what a great present she got yesterday! Hopefully she’ll have an even better day today with boyfriend Dev Patel by her side!

As mentioned before, Freida Pinto was one of the honorees at last night’s Women in Hollywood Tribute by ELLE magazine. She received the award for Most Promising Young Actress (and rightfully so!) at the award show, where actresses such as Jennifer Aniston, Viola Davis and Naomi Watts were honored as well. Freida looked stunning in a white dress by Calvin Klein (co-host of the event) as she posed for cameras and was presented with the award by Immortals co-star Stephen Dorff.
