I have added another set of 82 88 photos from last night’s Orange British Academy Film Awards. As mentioned earlier, Freida wore Oscar de la Renta (predicted here) to the event, and it might just be my favorite look of her’s so far! I know that I’ve said that numerous times before, but I mean it! Stay posted on Freida Pinto Fan for videos later on today.
The first 31 photos from the 2009 Orange British Academy Film Awards (also known as the BAFTAs) have been added to the gallery! Freida looked absolutely stunning in her light pink Oscar de la Renta dress as she was walking down the red carpet and posing in the press room. Lots of more coverage – including several video clips – is to come, so stay tuned to Freida Pinto Fan. In the meantime; Enjoy!
I just spotted Freida on the red carpet of the BAFTA Awards and she is looks nothing short of a vision in a stunning pink couture gown. Freida is, of course, nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of “Latika” in Slumdog Millionaire. We will have plenty more coverage, including a video of Freida and Dev on the red carpet, later on today and tomorrow! Best of luck to Freida!
Update: Best Supporting Actress went to Penelope Cruz. Slumdog was, however, the winner of the night as it sweeped all of the major awards!
Slumdog Millionaire has taken home even more awards this week, as Simon Beaufoy received Best Adapted Screenplay at yesterday’s Writer’s Guild Awards. The movie also scooped three prizes at this year’s London Film Critics’ Circle Awards, held on February 5, walking off with Best British Film, Best British Director for Danny Boyle and Screenwriter of the Year for Simon Beaufoy.
Huge congrats to the cast and crew for the well-deserved accolades! Hopefully Slumdog‘s winning streak will continue at tonight’s BAFTA Awards!
Yesterday Freida Pinto, Dev Patel and Danny Boyle attended the party for this year’s BAFTA nominees. Freida is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of “Latika” in Slumdog Millionaire. I’ve added 21 photos from the event so far. Check them out by clicking on the previews below!
Be sure to return to Freida Pinto Fan tonight to see the first photos from the red carpet of the BAFTA Awards, and to find out if Freida’s won the award! See y’all tonight.
Yesterday, Freida returned to Toronto, Canada, for a press meeting. She was very happy to be back in the city, as audiences at the Toronto International Film Festival were among the first to praise Slumdog Millionaire. I have added a few photos taken between the interviews and an article from the event can be read below.
“I’m very excited to be here,” the Mumbai-raised model-turned-actress, who made her film debut as the love interest in the drama that’s been nominated for 10 Oscars, said at a gala for the South Asian lifestyles magazine Anokhi.
“In a strange way it’s like my little gift back to the city because this is where it all started. This is where we had a first fan following, where we had the first standing ovation given to us by the press,” said Pinto, 24, referring to the People’s Choice Award the film won at the Toronto festival last September.
“I think in a strange way if this city hadn’t started it all for us, it could have been a bit more difficult.”

Freida Pinto is featured on the Vanities page in the upcoming March issue of Vanity Fair! She’s seen holding a miniature earth globe as a pin-up girl in a red bikini top, yellow polka-dot shorts and red shoes. Let me tell you, Freida is hot. On second thought, she’s hotter than hot; She’s hote.
Being on the Vanities-page is a big deal, and I want to congratulate Freida for the tremendous honor of being featured! I have added both the magazine scan as well as the original photoshoot-picture to the gallery. Enjoy!
Freida’s mentioned on yet another style-list, this time on Vogue.com‘s “Best Dressed”. She came in at the top spot, before celebs such as January Jones, Marion Cotillard and Renée Zellweger. The outfit they chose to showcase is the one seen to the left.

Yesterday, Freida was spotted in New York City as she was heading to designer Oscar de la Renta’s headquarters on Manhattan. She then left with a new coat and a gown in a long garment bag (carried by her stylist George Kotsiopoulos). Will she be wearing Oscar de la Renta to the Oscars? Or will the Oscar-dress be seen at the BAFTAs this Sunday? Wow, that was confusing.
P.S. Doesn’t Freida look amazing in her “everyday-life” as well?!
Freida Pinto is featured at the third spot on TeenVogue’s Best Dressed list of January 2009! Thanks to the TeenVogue staff for the heads up on this. The outfit they chose to represent Freida’s fashion sense was her gold/yellow dress at this year’s Golden Globes.
