Antonio Banderas joins Woody Allen project

Posted on February 27th, 2009   0 Comments / Leave a Comment

This film just keeps on getting bigger and bigger! Another name has been announced for Woody Allen’s next project – Antonio Banderas. The Spaniard joins Indian Freido Pinto, British-Australian Naomi Watts, American Josh Brolin and Brit Anthony Hopkins. International cast? Check!

The so-far-untitled movie is scheduled to start shooting in London, England, in July. Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaume Roures are producing, with financing from the Spain-based Mediapro, which also funded Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Here’s what Freida recently said of the movie: “I haven’t even read the script. I spoke to him for 10 minutes. I’m going to New York to meet him,” Pinto revealed. “It happened literally last week, just before I came here for the Oscars. The sweetest Oscar gift ever. I’m going to do it because it’s Woody Allen.”

Since Freida’s in New York City at the moment, I think she has now met/will meet with Woody. I can’t wait to hear more details on the movie. So excited!

Freida visits Indian consulate in New York City

Posted on February 27th, 2009   2 Comments / Leave a Comment

On Wednesday, Freida Pinto visited the Indian consulate in New York City and met with India’s Consul General Prabhu Dayal. Freida was thrilled to visit the consulate which is located in a magnificent historical building. What a difference a year makes!

Congratulating Freida on her outstanding success, Ambassador Dayal said it was not important whether the movie was directed by an Indian or not, as long as the storyline and the entire backdrop was Indian.

Dayal, a native of Allahabad, commended Danny Boyle’s movie for focusing attention on slum children in India and said the ball was now in the court of every Indian to do their utmost for improving the lives of such children and ensuring that they are imparted good education.

On the cover of Entertainment Weekly

Posted on February 27th, 2009   1 Comment / Leave a Comment

Just as promised, here is another cover that Freida is gracing in March! This time, she shares Entertainment Weekly’s March 6 cover with Slumdog Millionaire co-star Dev Patel. She looks superpretty in a yellow dress as she pose with Dev and the eight Oscar-statuettes the movie received on Sunday’s award show. The photo was clearly taken on February 23rd, while the cast and crew of Slumdog Millionaire was doing press for the Oscar-wins.

Once again, thanks to JustJared.com for the cover, which you can view in a bigger size in the gallery. Keep checking back for scans, and read a preview of the story after the cut!

Posted on February 26th, 2009   3 Comments / Leave a Comment

Freida Pinto sizzles on the cover of the Indian edition of Maxim’s March issue! Eventhough the featured photo is a reprint of GQ’s January issue, Freida looks hot and I will try to get you scans of the magazine as soon as possible!

I love how Freida pulls of three different looks with her March covers – Sexy in Maxim, Classy in Vogue and Girl-Next-Door(-but-hotter) in Cosmopolitan! She’s really versatile.

As said before, I will try to get scans from all the aforementioned magazines as soon as I possibly can! If you have the magazines and the ability to scan them; send them in at freidapintofan.com@gmail.com! Full credit will be given, of course.

On the cover of Vogue (India)

Posted on February 25th, 2009   4 Comments / Leave a Comment

Freida Pinto is gracing the cover of the Indian edition of Vogue’s March issue! The magazine hits stands today, and I will try to provide you with scans as soon as possible, check back soon for those! The interview features stories about her life before the Oscars, bonding with Oprah Winfrey, crushing on Leonardo DiCaprio and her future plans. I’m sure it’s a wonderful read!

According to rediff.com, a reporter asked stylist Tiina Laakkonen (on the Vogue shoot) why Pinto isn’t being dressed exclusively in Indian fashion, she then grabbed a pencil and scribbled her answer on a scrap of paper, ‘Because she’s international now!’ And she truly is an international phenomenon (even if I wouldn’t mind her being dressed in Indian fashion)!
