According to Italian site MyMovies.it, Freida Pinto had to cancel her attendance at the Venice Film Festival last-minute. She was expected to attend the world premiere of Miral tonight, but an emergency caused her to return to India instead. We wish all the best to Freida and her family, and hope that everything is all right at home.

Freida Pinto Fan will still report from Venice with updates on how the movie’s being received by audiences and critics. Stay tuned for that!

The official guest list for the 35th Toronto International Film Festival (running September 9-19) has been published; and Freida Pinto is on it! While this doesn’t come as a surprise to us (both Miral and You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger are being screened, after all) it’s nice to have it confirmed. This means tons of new things for us fans, and you can be sure Freida Pinto Fan will provide you with photos, videos and more throughout the festival.

Fingers crossed that Freida will attend the world premiere of Miral at the Venice Film Festival on September 2, as well!

Tonight Freida Pinto attended a new event, the first in over three months! Namely the New York premiere of The Last Airbender, the new action/fantasy movie starring none other than her boyfriend (and Slumdog Millionaire co-star) Dev Patel. Freida looked stunning in a green dress as she posed for photographers.

Despite shooting movie War of the Gods in Montreal, Canada, Freida Pinto attended designer Christopher Kane’s show at Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, India. Freida looked gorgeous in a lime and beige outfit, designed by Christopher Kane. She revealed that she loves Kane’s designs, saying “I am here only for two days. I have come all the way from Montreal just to attend Christopher Kane’s show. I love his designs.”

On February 20, Freida Pinto was honored with the “Global Indian Face of the Year” at the All India Women Concert by Pearls Wave. She attended the event with her mother (picture above) and looked gorgeous in an Indian design. Earlier today, Freida Pinto attended the launch of a new Louis Vuitton luxury store in Mumbai, India. She was photographed next to Indian celebrities such as Sendhil Ramamurthy (from Heroes), Shilpa Shetty, Malaika Arora Khan, Lara Dutta, Sameera Reddy and Shamita Shetty.
