Woody Allen: “Pinto Perfect for New Role”

Woody Allen has claimed that Freida Pinto was perfectly cast for her role in his upcoming film You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger. In the movie, Pinto plays a young art gallery assistant who begins an affair with a married writer (Josh Brolin).

The AP reports that Allen told journalists at the Toronto International Film Festival that the character required an actress that is just as beautiful as Naomi Watts, who plays the writer’s wife. “We wanted somebody that he looked out the window at who was an obscure object of desire. We figured, who could it be?” he said. “He’s married to Naomi Watts, who is so beautiful and such a wonderful actress.” He continued: “What could lure a guy from Naomi Watts? Nothing really.”

Allen added that a close-up of Pinto early in the film confirmed that he was right to select her for the role.  “You see that face close up over the table, and that face is pulverising. She’s so beautiful.”

You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger will debut in US cinemas on September 22.

2010 TIFF – “…Tall Dark Stranger” Premiere

Yesterday Freida Pinto attended the premiere of You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival! She looked gorgeous in an Alexander McQueen dress as she posed on the red carpet next to boyfriend Dev Patel. Freida also took some pictures with her movie co-stars backstage. 2010 TIFF – “…Tall Dark Stranger” Press Conference

As previously mentioned, Freida Pinto’s currently at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival promoting not one, but two movies! Earlier today she attended the press conference for You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger along with director Woody Allen and co-stars Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Lucy Punch and Gemma Jones. Freida looked absolutely stunning in a turquoise dress as she chatted about the movie.

Freida to Attend Toronto Film Festival Tonight!

This year’s Toronto International Film Festival has started and, as mentioned before, Freida Pinto has two movies screening there! Two Freida-Movies at Toronto Film Festival!

Yes, it’s really happening! Earlier today, the Toronto Film Festival announced the first big chunk of their 2010 lineup, including not one but two movies starring Freida Pinto! Both Miral and You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger are set to be screened at the film festival. This means that Freida is most likely to attend as well!
