On the cover of Cosmopolitan (India) – First look

Freida Pinto is featured on the cover of the March edition of Cosmopolitan India! On her very first editorial cover (!), Freida’s wearing a Christian Dior strapless dress and looking gorgeous in it (no surprise there!). When the magazine becomes available, you can be sure to see the scans here at Freida Pinto Fan!

There, I’m done with all the exclamation points. ;)

Thanks to High Heel Confidential we have a preview of the cover photo, which can be seen to the left. After the cut is an article about the Cosmopolitan feature, courtesy of Mail Today. Check it out.

Come Sunday, Danny Boyle’s heartwarming movie Slumdog Millionaire is expected to pick up a bagful of Oscars. There’s no nomination for Freida Pinto, who plays Latika, the perfect foil to protagonist Jamal Malik essayed by Dev Patel. But literally overnight, Freida went from being who’s-that-girl to ‘It girl’ in a transition that puts her on the cusp of international celebrity hood.

“The baffled look Jamal had when he won the money (in the film) is pretty much my expression any time I see an A-lister on the red carpet,” laughs Freida, in a fun oneon- one interview to Cosmopolitan magazine.

The 20-something actor, who’s the fun fearless female on the cover of Cosmopolitan’s March issue, may be new to the red carpet but is certainly no newcomer to style. She’s appeared on best- dressed lists from the moment she hit the public consciousness.

She has a strong personal style that’s evident in the confidence with which she carries off her choices.

At no point did Freida seem overwhelmed during a photoshoot in London for the magazine, in a series of looks totally different from the red carpet gowns she’s been sporting in recent weeks. She pulled off Cosmo’s trademark sexy look without any nerves as dresses from top international designers Stella McCartney, Herve Leger and Christian Dior, among others, set the tone for a look that’s all Freida.

Of course, the background as a model and TV anchor on a travel show comes handy when confronting the camera – her body language is utterly confident, both playful and sexy; she’s equally at ease being interviewed. Her eyes sparkle with spirit when she talks of the red carpet and the thrill of living her dream: “I’m just trying to enjoy it as much as I can, because it happens only once in a lifetime. It’s a blessing and I need to learn to relish and savour each moment, so that’s what I’m doing. And, most importantly, breathe!!”

  1. Pinaki Priyambada says:

She is the worst performing actor in the whole seen. In all her shows/interviews here she is just trying to steal/dominate. She is completely egocentric, indecent, most selfish lady. Just a movie old with 15min role but already shown great signs of selfishness, dishonesty, disloyalty. If she would have ever realized the theme of the movie she acted then SHE WOULD NEVER EVER HAVE DUMPED HER FIANCE OF FOUR YEARS, A SIMPLE, HONEST, LOYAL DOWN TO EARTH AND LOVING BOY FROM INDIA. A COMPLETE STUPID LADY. THE DAY IS NOT FAR AWAY WHEN EVERYBODY WILL DUMP HER. THE FASHION SHE SHOWED IN THE RED CARPET WILL NOT LAST FOREVER BUT WHAT A PERSON IS LASTS LONG. She has just shown skins, tried to look sexy to sell herself in west but no one is just going to buy her. Her co-actor Dev Patel is far far more promising than her in acting and is reall a good human being. Just getting a Woody Allen film in her second chance does not/ will not prove her dignified either as an actress or as a person. Completely degagraded Pinto.
